Argus Adventures

This installment of the continuing tales of the Argus Adventures is known as The Case of the Mysterious Argent Auxiliary Lens. One day I received a strange and exciting package. It came from the darkest reaches of far off Texas. The package went clunk clunk any time you moved it even a little. I cursed the shoddy packaging methods of the primitive Texas tribe. When I opened the mysterious parcel I was stunned to find that there was no broken glass inside. There was not even a single scrap of parchment to cushion the articles inside so I assume that they were protected by a spell of great power. Nothing else could explain their arrival intact.

The most important of these obviously valuable items were an Argus C3 camera and two Auxiliary Lenses. Perhaps these were the fabled lenses manufactured by the great Spiratone? Nay they were manufactured by some other Alchemist or Wizard known as Argent. Perhaps they were not so valuable but they must be of great power nonetheless. So I attempted to mate the V-T telephoto auxiliary lens with the sturdy Argus C3. Alas this match was not made in heaven. The slipon adaptor was too small to accept the Cintar of the C3.

I was crushed by disappointment. Surely these legendary lenses must have some use? I cogitated mightily on the matter. Smoke was seen to appear in the region of my ears. Suddenly a flashbulb went off over my head! When I recovered from that shock I had an idea. I inspected the V-T more closely. The slipon adaptor was removable! I removed said adaptor and saw why the mating of the V-T and the mighty Argus C3 had been doomed to failure. The V-T was a male! No wonder he refused to accept the Cintar of the sturdy Argus C3. Upon a nearby shelf I glimpsed the lovely Argus MatchMatic. Perhaps a mating could still be arranged!

I persuaded the reluctant MatchMatic to part with her retaining ring. Obviously her chastity had remained intact. Trembling with anticipation I encouraged the V-T to attempt insertion into the tantalizing threads of the MatchMatic's lens. Hurrah! The mating was accomplished and the match was made. A short time after the matchmaking a brainchild was born. It's name? Why Super Matchmatic of course! Only time will tell whether this being is a heroic provider of sharp and stunning photographs or a beastly monster with pictures of dreadful quality.
